Beyond the frail premises of...

"Beyond the frail premises of human beliefs, above the loosening grasp of creeds, the demonstration of Christian Mind-healing stands a revealed and practical Science." So states Mrs. Eddy on page 98 of Science and Health. I am so grateful for this Science that I feel I should like to share some of my experiences with others.

When our first child was nearing the age for Sunday School, my husband and I did not know where to send him. We both felt we wanted a true concept of God taught or nothing at all. Christian Science was introduced to us, and very shortly thereafter we enrolled our son in the Christian Science Sunday School. There he was taught the truth that is in the Bible, and from that time we began to study Christian Science. God became the only physician in our household, and the joy that has come to us with this study has been limitless.

After I had taken a definite stand for Christian Science and after I began to study daily the Lesson-Sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly, social drinking and smoking were healed as I gained the understanding that these were false appetites hiding in the disguise of habits.

I know that my receptivity to the truth opened the way for our present home in the country.

When our young son passed on quite suddenly, my husband and I were healed of grief by the truth that God is Life, that that Life is our son's life, and that since God created all and pronounced it good, this good is eternal and cannot lapse into oblivion or the illusion called death.

These experiences and many more have enriched our lives. Much joy has come to me through my membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church. I am grateful for the Bible Lessons and for the Christian Science periodicals, which send forth their much-needed messages to mankind.

The truer concept of God which has come as a result of this enlightening study has brought the realization of the all-power, allpresence, and Science of His law as ever available. I have prayed, "Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law" (Ps. 119:18), and my prayer has been answered. Gratitude expresses what is in my heart, but there are few words really to describe my appreciation.—(Mrs.) Joan Watson De Muth, Monee, Illinois.
