"Give thanks unto the Lord, call...

"Give thanks unto the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people." Thus do we read in the Bible (I Chron. 16:8), and this verse typifies the orderly process of a Christian Science healing.

Whenever I have gratefully acknowledged God's ever-present goodness and power, my prayers have been answered, and I now take this opportunity to make known His deeds. Four years ago, upon the insistence of a member of my family who is not a student of Christian Science, I submitted to a physical examination, but because a medical diagnosis was contrary to what I had learned in Christian Science, I agreed to it reluctantly. Thus when the pronouncement was made by the examining physician that I had a fibrous tumor, fear and resentment had to be cast out completely.

This was accomplished when I gained a clear understanding that God is Love, that He created all of His ideas spiritually perfect, the reflections of Himself, that nothing could be added to this creation and nothing needed to be taken from it. I pondered this statement by Mary Baker Eddy in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p.519): "Deity was satisfied with His work. How could He be otherwise, since the spiritual creation was the outgrowth, the emanation, of His infinite self-containment and immortal wisdom?"
