My heart is overflowing with...

My heart is overflowing with gratitude for Christian Science. For many years I have had rich blessings that I feel only Christian Science can give, and I should like to share my joy.

I had the privilege of attending a Christian Science Sunday School, and throughout my school years, and later in the business world, Christian Science surely protected me from many inharmonious conditions. Divine Love has led me all along the way.

One outstanding healing occurred about a year ago. I had some discomfort and noticed a small growth on my body. At first it felt like a pimple, but in a few days it was much larger. Suddenly I was overtaken with fear, but I knew that I must correct it with thoughts of Truth. Immediately I began to declare, in the words of the Bible (I John 4:16), "God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him."

I knew that because in reality I dwelt in Love, I was perfect in God's sight. I was never for an instant separated from God; therefore I could never reflect anything but good, because God is good. I realized that I was His perfect, spiritual expression and that all that really exists is God and His idea—perfect God and perfect man. With this declaration of truth, I knew that the demonstration was made. There was no more discomfort, and the growth disappeared.

In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy states (p. 368), "When fear disappears, the foundation of disease is gone." I was so very grateful for this healing.

At another time while I was working prayerfully for a little girl who had a painful condition of warts on her feet, a corn on my little toe just disappeared. I did not even realize it was gone until several days later.

I should also like to relate an experience of divine protection. While I was driving with some friends, we collided with another automobile. Our car turned completely over and stopped just about two feet from a steep canyon. At this time I remembered to declare God's presence. There were four of us in the car; and except for a few scratches, no one was hurt, although the car was badly damaged. To me, this was certainly wonderful proof of God's omnipresent love.

At another time I fell off a three-foot ladder. I immediately declared with spiritual conviction that I was not hurt, and I repeated "the scientific statement of being," which conculdes with the declaration (Science and Health, p. 468), "Therefore man is not material; he is spiritual." This happened on a Wednesday, and that evening, as First Reader of the branch Church of Christ, Scientist, of which I was a member, I conducted the testimony meeting. There were no aftereffects.

This and other healings have meant so much to me, because they prove that when we do rely entirely on God, who is the only power and presence, we are protected from inharmonious conditions.

I wish to express gratitude for the joyous experience of class instruction, for the annual association meetings, for the privilege of serving in the Sunday School as superintendent, as a Reader, and also for the opportunity of taking part in various church activities. Each has been an opportunity to serve for the glory of God and has brought much unfoldment and joy.

Words are inadequate to express all the humility, love, and gratitude I have for Mrs. Eddy, who brought to the world this beautiful religion of Truth which reveals that the healing Christ is here today. I am very grateful for Christian Science.—(Mrs.) Alyce Brilhante, San Leandro, California.
