For many years I have been the recipient of numerous blessings resulting from my study and reliance on Christian Science. Recently I have come to realize that while the audible expressions of gratitude in acknowledgment of healings given at the Wednesday evening testimony meetings in branch Churches of Christ, Scienctist, are indispensable, there are other equally important opportunities to proclaim the healing and redemptive power of this Science to a world so in need of its ministrations. I am glad to relate my experience to readers of this publication, and I know it will be especially helpful to those faced with a similar problem.

A very short time after completing my basic training course in the Army, I was accepted as a candidate for officer's training. This appointment was contingent upon my passing a very stringent physical examination. The Army doctor who examined me found a heart condition which would prevent my acceptance for officer's training. Apparently noting my great disappointment, the doctor very kindly added that I might return for another test on the following morning.

I had previously worked out many problems in Christian Science, but I felt the need for the sustaining help of a practitioner. Upon leaving the dispensary, I telephoned the Christian Science Wartime Minister, as he was known in the Second World War, and related my problem. Treatment was begun immediately, and I spent the evening reading the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.
