I should like to tell of some of the wonderful healings that my family and I have received through the study of Christian Science and through the help of a devoted student of this Science, as well as through the prayerful help of a Christian Science practitioner.

We had tried everthing medical science could do for me for a heart condition, and we had spent most of our farm earnings for medicine and doctor bills; so after we had been told by several doctors that they could do no more for me, we went to see a cousin who is a student of Christian Science. She gave me a copy of The Christian Science Journal. I read it through slowly and carefully, and everything began to change. Then I asked for help from a Christian Science practitioner, and I was healed of spells that I had felt would take my life.

Throughout the experience, I held to this wonderful truth from Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy (p. 425): "Consciousness constructs a better body when faith in matter has been conquered. Correct material belief by spiritual understanding, and Spirit will form you anew. You will never fear again except to offend God, and you will never believe that heart or any portion of the body can destroy you."
