MAN IS PERFECT NOW

The authority for the declaration contained in the title of this article runs all through the Bible, beginning in the first chapter of Genesis, where God is recorded as making man in His own image and likeness. God's creation is unchangeable, the emanation of the one perfect cause, eternal Principle.

As we accept the perfection of God to be ever present, so we accept the perfection of His image and likeness, man, to be ever present. In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy writes (p. 302), "The Science of being reveals man as perfect, even as the Father is perfect, because the Soul, or Mind, of the spiritual man is God, the divine Principle of all being, and because this real man is governed by Soul instead of sense, by the law of Spirit, not by the so-called laws of matter."

It is important to keep before our thought the fact of spiritual perfection, for this brings the consciousness of Christ's healing presence and the Father-Mother love of God. This truth shields us from the acceptance of an erroneous concept of ourselves as victims of anything that is unlike good.
