There is a time in each one's life...
There is a time in each one's life when he must decide whether to be identified with good or evil. This time came to me one evening at a social gathering when an unkind remark was made about my character.
I immediately knew that the remark was untrue, and I remembered what had been taught to me in the Christian Science Sunday School: the fundamental reality that man is the image and likeness of God. I decided that now was the time to identify myself with that concept of man.
This quotation from Luke came to my thought (9:62): "No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God." I woke to the necessity of really living Christian Science and determined to do so. This decision led me to study Christian Science earnestly and to rid myself of habits that would keep me from making application for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church.
