I am grateful for the Christian Science Sunday School, which I go to, and for the teachers who have helped me learn the Ten Commandments, the Beatitudes, the Lord's Prayer with its spiritual interpretation, and of God, and man, who is God's image and likeness. Many times I have been helped by these words (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 393): "Be firm in your understanding that the divine Mind governs, and that in Science man reflects God's government. Have no fear that matter can ache, swell, and be inflamed as the result of a law of any kind, when it is self-evident that matter can have no pain nor inflammation."

One day I was going down a hill on my bicycle. The bicycle turned over, and when I fell it landed on top of me and hurt my leg. A friend helped me up, and some nice women came out of their homes with water for me to wash off the dirt. I could not telephone my mother, because she was not home just then; so I had to rely on my own understanding of Christian Science. I repeated the Lord's Prayer and some statements from Science and Health. One of them was "the scientific statement of being," found on page 468, which begins, "There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter."

I knew that the truth would heal me and that God would give me strength to get to my home, which was about one mile away. I looked at my bicycle, and it was a mess. I was more worried about it than I was about my leg, because I like my bicycle so much.
