HAPPINESS AND HUMAN RELATIONSHIPS

[Of Special Interest to Young People]

Humanly , there are times when we all need help. What is help for? It is to aid us to help ourselves. It is always available. Never are we without God's representatives. Christian Science practitioner, Sunday School teacher, father, mother, grandfather, grandmother, a friend, the Bible, the writings of Mary Baker Eddy, a remembered statement of truth, an inspirational idea—these are God's representatives, and they help us to know the truth for ourselves.

The relationship between human beings may seem to be that of interdependence, but it is not really so. Rays of sunlight do not depend upon each other for their ability to shine; they depend upon the sun. Each one of us depends directly and solely upon God.

"God is our Father and our Mother, our Minister and the great Physician," declares Mrs. Eddy on page 151 of her work entitled "Miscellaneous Writings." And she continues, "He is man's only real relative on earth and in heaven." Then she quotes David, who sang (Ps. 73:25), "Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee."
