THE TREE OF LIFE IS AT HAND
Christian Science assures us that Life and being are eternal. This means that Life, God has nothing to do with matter—with sick, sinning, and dying physique. Man's true existence as an idea of Life extends from everlasting to everlasting. Individual existence is supported, maintained, and prospered by God, divine Life, Truth, and Love.
The world's concept of life as beginning and ending is but a finite view based upon material evidences of the senses. One may think in his ignorance that life would be hopelessly empty if he did not have a material environment or if life did not include the companionship of a certain person or persons. But this human view assumes that the friend or companion has material life, exists separate from God, and can by some means give the other one somewhat of that life.
Our real life does not depend upon a person, a place, or a thing. It depends exclusively upon God, who is Life itself. There is only one Life, and every idea of God is an expression of that one Life. Life cannot be taken away from any idea of God, and an idea of God can never be separated from Life, God.
