Before I took up the study of...
Before I took up the study of Christian Science, I became ill with a nervous breakdown. After I had been absent from my work for seven weeks, the doctor told me he could do no more for me. Then I remembered friends of mine who were students of Christian Science and who were examples of health and joy. At my request they sent me the address of a Christian Science practitioner, and I got in touch with her.
For the first time I enjoyed restful sleep such as I had not experienced in months. I felt as though I were living in a new world radiant with peace and joy. This sense of uplift remained with me for some weeks, and I knew that I must pursue the study of Christian Science at all costs. As I studied, false traits of character were overcome, my work became more joyous, and I had a greater sense of dominion.
