In seeking a God who could...
In seeking a God who could really be "a very present help in trouble" (Ps. 46:1), I was led to attend a Church of Christ, Scientist. Only one Sunday morning service was needed to convince me that I had found the living God. Subsequently I joined The Mother Church and a branch church and later I enjoyed the precious privilege of class instruction.
One of my first healings through Christian Science occurred over twenty years ago and was that of chronic rose colds. The healing was brought about by Mrs. Eddy's statement in Science and Health (p. 175), "What an abuse of natural beauty to say that a rose, the smile of God, can produce suffering!"
Enough cannot be said to express gratitude adequately for our Christian Science Hymnal. Many a healing has come through an angel thought in the lines of a hymn. Some of the conditions healed in this way have been chronic constipation, pneumonia, colds, and an internal difficulty of long standing.
