As a student of Christian Science...

As a student of Christian Science many blessings have come to me through the study of the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. The weekly Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly, particularly, has given me renewed strength each day as I have studied it before going to my business. The study of these lessons has opened my thought to new ways and means of handling problems, and it has given me protection in times of potential danger and need.

One example of this protection happened several years ago. For over twenty years I have owned and piloted my own aircraft in connection with business. Prior to my taking up Christian Science, my wife worked unselfishly for my protection. However, after becoming interested in Christian Science, I began to think of doing this work for myself.

One October, after attending a meeting in Santa Fe, New Mexico, I made plans to leave for New York very early the next morning. I arose at four o'clock, read the Lesson-Sermon, checked with the weather bureau, and planned my trip back home. The weather report indicated an overcast condition at ten thousand feet with a tail wind of fifty-five miles per hour at twelve thousand feet. The proper flight plan was made and filed according to the rules governing an instrument flight.
