To count my blessings is impossible...

To count my blessings is impossible, for they are more than I can recall. Mary Baker Eddy states (Science and Health, p. 1), "Desire is prayer; and no loss can occur from trusting God with our desires, that they may be moulded and exalted before they take form in words and in deeds." The truth of this statement has been proved to me many times.

When I was about twelve years of age, I had a great desire to join a Church of Christ, Scientist, which I often passed. Now I am a member of it; so that desire was fulfilled. I have raised three children, all of whom had the great privilege of attending Sunday School. They were quickly healed of convulsions, diphtheria, whooping cough, quinsy, scarlet fever, and other so-called childhood diseases.

One outstanding experience was that of painless childbirth after the doctor had said that the birth would not be a normal one. He said that the child was upside down, but the Christian Science practitioner who was helping me declared that nothing is upside down in God's kingdom. Everything was righted, and the birth was normal. That was twenty-seven years ago, and this child is now a mother herself.
