GOD'S GOVERNMENT

Christian Science turns our thought to God for the solution of every problem, and therefore we look to God for the realization and demonstration of true government and peace. This Science teaches that God is the source of all good and that man is God's expression.

Each individual must establish peace and eradicate turmoil in his own thinking. He must on a scientific basis do away with so-called petty conflicts in family relationships, in business and church activities, and in government affairs. As he does, he will enjoy that "peace of God, which passeth all understanding," spoken of in the Bible (Phil. 4:7). The peace of God is individually made manifest to the degree that one understands that man is the reflection of God and expresses only His qualities.

In Isaiah we read (33:22), "The Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king." Here we find all branches of true government included in God —judicial, legislative, and executive. God is the supreme judge. He is the Lawgiver, holding man complete in His perfect law. He is King, the Ruler over all. He does the only real appointing and the anointing. He fills the true office, protects it, and provides the only wisdom and understanding needed to fulfill the duties of that office.
