RESERVE STRENGTH

What is true strength? Is it a quality which can wax and wane, appear and disappear? "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble," affirms the Psalmist (Ps. 46: 1). Since God is our ever-present strength, it cannot be a vacillating or depreciating force, for God is eternally all-powerful.

That God is our real strength is a law of protection and guidance for all who understand and utilize this truth. True strength is not muscular, mechanical, electrical, or chemical. Genuine strength rests in one's understanding of God's universal supremacy and of man's individual oneness, or unity, with God. God governs His creation in perfect harmony, and evil has no place or power in that creation.

Christian Science reveals the rules which enable us to apply divine Truth to righteous daily activities and thus to harmonize and strengthen our lives. Mary Baker Eddy declares in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 128): "A knowledge of the Science of being develops the latent abilities and possibilities of man. It extends the atmosphere of thought, giving mortals access to broader and higher realms."
