"Truth and Love enlighten the understanding, in whose 'light shall we see light;' and this illumination is reflected spiritually by all who walk in the light and turn away from a false material sense." These words from page 510 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy were proved true to me.

Several years ago my wife and I stopped at a fireworks stand outside of town to buy some firecrackers and sparklers for our two children. Some boys were standing there shooting fireworks. One of them threw a torpedo against the pavement on my side of the car, and some small gravel hit me in the eye. I was completely blind in one eye for three days. Through the wonderful work of a Christian Science practitioner and my wife's loving encouragement, my sight was restored. This was indeed a complete healing, for I have never had to wear glasses. Because I am a postman, I must have good eyesight in order to read addresses and handle mail correctly.

One day I was putting up some curtains which my wife had washed, and something bit or stung me on the neck. In a short while everything turned black. The difficulty was overcome through the prayerful work of a practitioner while my wife was reading to me from Science and Health.
