I am deeply grateful for all the blessings that I have received through the study and application of Christian Science, and I feel that I must offer this testimony.

Like the woman referred to by Jesus as one "whom Satan hath bound" (Luke 13:16), I had suffered for many years from a curvature of the spine. Any activity caused severe backache. I went to various kinds of doctors, including osteopaths, but received no benefit.

Then I took up Christian Science and had treatment at different times from practitioners. After much study I came to the conclusion that I must overcome the habit of criticism and the burden of false responsibility. I finally realized that other people's habits were not my responsibility. The Bible says (Phil. 2:12): "Work out your own salvation," and (Matt. 7:1), "Judgenot, that ye be not judged." I also studied these words from the beautiful hymn by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy (Poems, p. 79):
