"What shall I render unto the...

"What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me?" (Ps. 116:12.) With these words ringing in my heart I should like to express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has brought me. I chose Christian Science when I was ten years of age because it revealed that in reality I was good and not bad. Until my first visit to a Christian Science Sunday School my life had been filled with bitterness, sadness, and fear. I had been led to believe that I had inherited a bad temper and a hateful, stubborn disposition. With what joy I accepted this new truth which taught that God is man's only parent and has made everything, including man, good!

As I continued attending the Christian Science Sunday School, where I was taught that God is infinite, ever-present Love, the old traits of hate and fear began to disappear one by one. Some of the many blessings I have experienced have been through my own application of Christian Science, while others have come through the help of Christian Science practitioners. These blessings have included the healings of an undiagnosed skin disease, infected tonsils, a painful condition of my foot, which prevented me from putting my entire weight upon it, supersensitivity to sunlight, and chronic headaches. Nail biting, which had endured for over twenty-five years, an uncontrollable temper, and swearing were all overcome, and I was healed of a nervous breakdown. These healings accompanied a regeneration of thought.

It is no wonder that I thank God for Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and for our Leader, Mrs. Eddy. When I think of the enormous sacrifice Mrs. Eddy made so that she might give her great discovery of Truth to all mankind, I become increasingly grateful to her for the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and for the entire Christian Science movement, which she established.
