THE TRUTH STEPHEN KNEW HEALED HIM
[Of Special Interest to Children]
Stephen is a Christian Scientist, and among other truths he is learning the seven synonyms for God which Mary Baker Eddy gives us in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." These synonyms are Mind, Spirit, Soul, Principle, Life, Truth, and Love.
He had been looking forward to spending a happy Easter vacation with his grandparents in an adjoining state. But when the time came for the family to go, he had an earache. It troubled him so much that his mother thought of not making the trip until later. She telephoned long-distance to his grandmother and told her that she felt they should not come.
Grandmother, who is also a Christian Scientist, did not believe in earaches. She knew that man, made in God's likeness, could not have an earache. Trusting God to take care of Stephen, she told his mother to come, and said she knew that he would be all right.
