While an active member of an orthodox church, I met some students of Christian Science. I knew nothing of their religion, but soon I realized that they had an understanding of God and His relationship to man which I had not gained from my religion. This fact interested me, and I began reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and attending a Church of Christ, Scientist. Words cannot express my gratitude for the many blessings which have come into my experience since then. I have learned to trust God more completely, knowing that He loves, controls, and provides all good for His children. Through the proper application of the truths in our family many business problems have been solved, physical difficulties have disappeared, and much protection has been experienced.
When overcome by a nervous breakdown, my husband received no help from doctors and was told he must be taken to a hospital. At this point he consented to try Christian Science. After two visits from a practitioner, my husband was up, and very soon he was entirely free. A severe case of prostate glandular trouble, from which he had been suffering, was also healed at this time, and the healing has been a permanent one.
Our business had been sold during my husband's illness. After my husband's healing, our son called saying he would like to help us establish a new business. This would be of an entirely different nature and in a new location. His loving offer was accepted, and the move was made. A new home was found, though we had been told that such a thing could not be done. The business opened with my husband assuming full responsibility and was very successful. In this experience we proved the truth of Mrs. Eddy's words (Science and Health, p. 454): "Love inspires, illumines, designates, and leads the way."
