Looking back over a long life, I now can see in the light of Christian Science that God has always been present to protect me. I owe much gratitude to my mother for thoroughly instilling in my mind the value of the Ten Commandments and other Bible truths. For Mrs. Eddy's writings and all the avenues through which Christian Science is being brought to the attention of mankind, I can never be grateful enough.

Since I live alone, I do many kinds of work usually done by men. One day I overlifted and injured myself internally. I was in much misery and had to remain quiet. After two or three days of seeking unsuccessfully to help myself with my own understanding of Christian Science, I had two treatments from a consecrated practitioner. The following day I was out spading in the garden, healed.

Since then I have handled logs and gathered up tons of rocks, some of them as heavy as I could lift, without injury to myself. Thus I have proved what our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, states on page 385 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," "Whatever it Is your duty to do, you can do without harm to yourself."
