I have had the privilege of being familiar with the teachings of Christian Science since I was a very small child. From my earliest recollection, the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, lay beside the Bible on the center table in the parlor.

As I grew older I read the textbook occasionally, and later when I reached the age of nineteen and my work took me away from home into a very worldly atmosphere, I quickly took up the study of Christian Science in earnest and started applying the truth to my human needs. Since then I have had so many and varied proofs of God's care and protection that it is a bit difficult to single out any certain ones to include in this testimony.

During my high school years I suffered several attacks of laryngitis. Later, when I was using my voice professionally, this malady recurred in an aggravated form. One night I was unable to finish my work, and arrangements were made for someone to replace me for the next few days. I went to my hotel room, and taking up the Bible and Science and Health, I studied prayerfully for some time. Then I retired.
