I am happy to testify to the regenerating...
I am happy to testify to the regenerating influence which the study of Christian Science is having on my life. During the last three and a half years since I began to study in earnest and to correct the things which I knew to be wrong in my life, instead of doing nothing about them, a great deal of good has come into my experience.
Probably what I have to be most grateful for is a greater consciousness of the presence of good. I am almost surprised to find how much more time is spent now than previously in thinking or doing good in one way or another, and with a more cheerful and optimistic outlook. Before I began to study Christian Science, it seldom occurred to me to help others in the office or to appreciate the good that they were doing. Even if I had thought of helping, I certainly should not have been able to enjoy it so much; there would have been too many personal worries in the way. I am very grateful to be able to recognize and acknowledge this proof of progress.
Another blessing has been that of a much greater interest in the Bible. The light that Christian Science throws on the Scriptures has changed them for me from an incomprehensible volume of writings, which I seldom even bothered to look at, into an absorbing book which is so full of kindness and helpful counsel that I cannot help loving it. And when I found out that healings such as those which took place centuries ago are actually happening today, and that even a slight spiritual understanding brings some degree of harmony, it made the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's works thrilling reading for me. I am also grateful for the fact that this study has caused a considerable lessening of fear in my affairs and has brought greater happiness, even when problems are being worked out.
It is small wonder that I am humbly grateful to Mrs. Eddy for establishing the Christian Science movement, for without it my understanding of Truth would not have been possible.—Hugh Crichton Roberts, Bangkok, Thailand.
