Christian Science has brought me comfort and healing. While still a member of an orthodox church, I frequently attended the Wednesday evening testimony meetings at Churches of Christ, Scientist. I heard many wonderful testimonies, and some were of the healing of grief. Those giving these testimonies did not speak of "comfort," but always of "healing." I used to think that they could have been comforted in their grief, but I did not see how they could possibly have been healed of it. Later I understood, for through the help of a Christian Science practitioner I was healed of grief so completely at the passing of a beloved friend that I glimpsed the truth of Mrs. Eddy's statement in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 428), "Life is real, and death is the illusion."

This healing gave me a longing to know more of Christian Science. Becoming a member of The Mother Church and of a branch church has given me much joy as well as the privilege of serving on the Christian Science literature distribution committee, which helps to make available to those who are seeking the truth the wonderful messages of divine Love and inspiration. I am grateful to Christ Jesus, our Way-shower, to our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, and to our Christian Science practitioners, whose consecration to Truth enables them to demonstrate to those who call upon them the proof of Christian power.

It is with profound gratitude that I speak of the privilege of class instruction. During class I had the joyous experience of being freed completely and quickly from a troublesome eye condition. One evening while I was studying, this condition became particularly irritating, and it occurred to me that perhaps something was in the eye or on the eyelid. However, nothing of this nature was evident. While touching the eyeball, however, I found that a growth, which I had not known was there, was loosening and was apparently about to be removed.
