OUR "HOW-TO-DO-IT" BOOKS

[Of Special Interest to Children]

Did you ever use a "How-to-do-it" book? Bookstores say that some of their best-selling books are those which tell how to make or do something. As Christian Scientists we have the two best "How-to-do-it" books. They are the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Probably any boy or girl in a Christian Science Sunday School could tell us why. It is because we can solve any problem we shall ever have by relying on the truths which we learn from these two textbooks.

If we seem to be sick or hurt, we can turn to the Bible and Science and Health for healing, the very same healing practiced by the prophets in the Old Testament and by Christ Jesus and his disciples in the New Testament. On the first page of Science and Health Mrs. Eddy says, "The prayer that reforms the sinner and heals the sick is an absolute faith that all things are possible to God,—a spiritual understanding of Him, an unselfed love."

In a Christian Science Sunday School there is a young boy named Gary. He has learned the Lord's Prayer from the Bible, and its spiritual interpretation which begins on page 16 of Science and Health, and he has used his understanding of them many times to heal himself and his pets.
