JOY ACCOMPANIES TRUE HUMILITY

A Student of Christian Science who wished to attain more peace and joy, as well as greater dominion over error, prayed earnestly to be shown what she most needed. There came to her thought the word humility, and immediately she found herself repeating the poem "Feed My Sheep" by Mary Baker Eddy, the first verse of which is as follows (Poems, p. 14):

"Shepherd, show me how to go
O'er the hillside steep,
How to gather, how to sow,—
How to feed Thy sheep;
I will listen for Thy voice,
Lest my footsteps stray;
I will follow and rejoice
All the rugged way."
