The Christian must see goodness as likeness to God, as his true character as a son of God, as the undying life of Spirit which is his birthright; and he must see evil as that which robs him of all this . . ., as the renunciation of his divine heritage. And thinking of them in this way, he must unite himself irrevocably to goodness.
