Many years ago I was in the depths of despair and overwhelmed with grief at the passing on of my husband. In addition I had gone to pieces physically as the result of an accident. Following this, I had had an operation, but with little benefit. Further anxiety about one of my daughters, who had contracted blood poisoning in one leg, added to the mental strain.

I turned in desperation to a friend who had told me that Christian Science heals. She lovingly assured me that "with God all things are possible" (Matt. 19:26) and helped me to get in touch with a Christian Science practitioner. I related my troubles to the practitioner and inquired if she could possibly heal my girl, adding that I had no hope of being healed myself and telling her of my physical condition.

She referred me to this truth in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy (p. 206): "In the scientific relation of God to man, we find that whatever blesses one blesses all, as Jesus showed with the loaves and the fishes,—Spirit, not matter, being the source of supply." To my great joy the practitioner's treatments quickly healed my daughter, and to my surprise I found my own condition improving. Before long I was completely restored to normal health.
