My first instantaneous healing in...

My first instantaneous healing in Christian Science came just after I had finished a business course and was rejoicing in my first office position. My wrist and hand became so swollen that I could not use my fingers. A physician pronounced the trouble writer's cramp. He put a splint and bandage on my wrist and told me not to use my fingers for three weeks. I went home very much discouraged, because I needed the position.

It was Wednesday, and I went to a Wednesday testimony meeting in a Church of Christ, Scientist. As I left the church I took a Sentinel from a distribution rack and went home and read it. In an article was a quotation from II Corinthians (6:2) which arrested my attention: "Now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." I arose from my chair with the intention of throwing the splint and bandage into the fire, but I hesitated and thought that I would leave them on until the next morning. The words came, "Now is the time," and then into the fire the splint and bandage went. The next morning I went to work perfectly free. Since that time, many years ago, Christian Science has healed me of lumbago, neuritis, a dislocated hip, and other difficulties.

Some years ago I was suffering from rheumatism. At that time we were having trouble over a cattle ranch my husband and I had purchased. We settled the trouble out of court, but the other interested couple were not pleased and continued to annoy us. This I resented, as we had bought the property according to mutual agreement. Before I was permanently healed of the rheumatic trouble, it was necessary for me to see everyone concerned as being governed by divine Mind and willing to be guided by it. Later the other couple came to see us and expressed friendliness.
