HOW CHRISTIAN SCIENCE HEALS: April 16, 1955 Issue

RADIO PROGRAM No.82 - The Prayer That Heals Polio

On this program Miss Mary Neale of Boston, Massachusetts, told of her own experience, as follows:

I was a year and a half old when paralysis symptoms appeared after I'd been sick for a number of days. Mother reported the situation in obedience to the public health laws of our city. The doctor of the health department examined me and diagnosed the case as polio. It was necessary to put a sign on the house saying "Infantile Paralysis Within." This seemed to add to my mother's fears, but we were depending entirely on Christian Science, and the Christian Science practitioner, who was praying earnestly for us, said that Mother could correct her thinking by substituting the thought, "God Within."

There was much fear to be overcome though, and more trust in God was needed. Until Mother saw this, I grew steadily worse. The practitioner did not become discouraged, but continued to pray faithfully and scientifically as Christian Science teaches.
