It is recorded in the third chapter...

It is recorded in the third chapter of Exodus that Moses, while tending a flock in Midian, turned aside to see why a bush which was in flames was not consumed. There God spoke to Moses out of the midst of the burning bush and sent him on his great mission to free his people from bondage in Egypt. It was openness of mind and spiritual inquiry which directed Moses' steps. The same qualities were instrumental in leading me into Christian Science.

I had come from another city to be with my son. Being without a church home, I visited a different church each Sunday, until I went to the service of a Church of Christ, Scientist. After it was over I went home wondering why that church had a larger congregation than any of the other churches that I had visited.

The next Sunday I returned to the same church, curious as to what there was in the service to attract so many people. I listened intently to the reading of the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly, the subject of which was "Spirit." About halfway through the reading I found my consciousness opening to the truth that was in the lesson, and I knew that there was something in this religion which appealed to my innermost being and to my reason, and which could be made practical in my daily life.
