FAMILY HARMONY THROUGH SPIRITUAL ONENESS

Harmony on an enduring spiritual basis is being established in families throughout the world, as shown by healings recorded in The Christian Science Journal and the Sentinel. In these we find inspiring statements regarding the healing of discordant traits of character and of many phases of domestic inharmony through the application of spiritual law.

Mary Baker Eddy writes (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p.57), "Union of the masculine and feminine qualities constitutes completeness." A few lines down in the same paragraph she says, "These different elements conjoin naturally with each other, and their true harmony is in spiritual oneness."

We are taught in Christian Science that all spiritually based qualities have a kindred source in Love, Truth, Mind. It is this basic oneness of completely good characteristics which results in harmony. Individuals who are endeavoring to improve their expression of these true qualities find new joy in mutually shared experience. When such feminine graces as peace, trust, and love unite with understanding, integrity, wisdom, and other characteristics considered masculine, this union contributes to the sense of completeness so helpful to the happiness of a family. Each spiritual quality, even slightly expressed, adds to the satisfaction and enjoyment of family relationships and activities.
