MIND'S JURISDICTION

The power to govern the world belongs to God alone; and to prove this fact was the purpose of Christ Jesus' ministry. With scientific thoroughness the Master set about his task, explaining Mind's jurisdiction over every created thing. The flower of the field, the sparrow, the wind and wave, the sustenance, health, nature, and life of man—all these, he taught, are under the control of the one Supreme Being. He said (John 6:38), "I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me." And wherever he walked harmony was manifest.

In the presence of Jesus' understanding of Mind's universal jurisdiction the human sense of impaired speech, sight, hearing, health, yielded to the fact that the faculties and substance of man belong to Mind instead of to matter. The Master revealed to mankind the nature of the kingdom of heaven. He wrought out the Father's will as an illustration of the spiritual reality of being in contradistinction to the material unreality.

Christian Science interprets the Master's works and precepts, and its explanations restore the power to heal to those who grasp its teachings. Divine Mind is again being proved to be the true governing force of the universe. Mary Baker Eddy says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 379), "The real jurisdiction of the world is in Mind, controlling every effect and recognizing all causation as vested in divine Mind."
