For over forty years Christian Science has been my only physician. While I did not come to it for physical healing, I have had many opportunities to prove its healing power. I was able to discard glasses the first time I read through Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy Early in my experience in Science I was quickly healed of typhoid fever and later of a severe bowel ailment.

The birth of our son was without pain. When he was three years old he broke his arm. I asked a practitioner for help, and the pain ceased. My husband, who was not a Christian Scientist, was much concerned because the arm was crooked, and he feared the child would not be able to use it properly. He therefore took the child to a doctor, who told him that the bone had already knit. I wrote to the practitioner, and one day a little later I looked out of the window and saw the child pounding nails with a hammer. He has had no further trouble with the arm, and it is as straight and strong as the other one.

About two years ago I awoke one morning unable to speak correctly or read. I could not even remember the Lord's Prayer, but I did remember "the scientific statement of being," given on page 468 of Science and Health. I repeated this aloud as I went about my housework. Later a friend wrote to a Christian Science practitioner, as I could not write, and requested help for me. In a few days I was again able to read understandingly, and before long I was entirely free.
