In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy says (p. 179), "Science can heal the sick, who are absent from their healers, as well as those present, since space is no obstacle to Mind."

The truth of this statement was proved to me a number of years ago when I was suffering from a painful condition in my jaw. I was not making any progress in realizing the truth for myself; so I decided to ask for treatment from a Christian Science practitioner who lived about a thousand miles away. Three days after mailing my letter I felt a pronounced movement in my jaw.

Later I received a letter from the practitioner stating that my letter had been received, and that work for me had started at once. The practitioner's letter was written on the same day that the movement occurred in my jaw. As a result of further diligent study and prayer the condition was completely and permanently healed.
