THE COMFORTER

God, who remembered Noah and his kind,
Who made a wind to pass over the earth
So that the floods assuaged, the rain resigned,
And the great ark came gently to its berth,
Today can stop the flood tides of all grief,
Restrain the tears, yes, stanch them at their fount,
Cause heaven's wind to carry swift relief
And each man's ark to rest upon His mount.
