Solely through reliance upon Christian Science I was completely healed of chronic constipation, which had been a problem for me from girlhood. An attendant condition, hemorrhoids, was healed at the same time.

The Bible says (Gal. 5:1), "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." And in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," which, together with the Bible, is studied daily by students of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy states (p. 368), "When fear disappears, the foundation of disease is gone." So it was in my case. No specific treatment was given, but I had a desire to be led aright and a willing attitude. For my healing, which occurred more than fifteen years ago and has been permanent, I give thanks to God.

More recently I was healed of deafness in one ear, a condition of four years' standing. Once during those four years I became discouraged and made an appointment with an ear specialist, but yearning to be led aright and not misled into the realm of material diagnosis, I canceled the appointment. How grateful I am now that I did not examine matter for cause, which is always mental!
