Before I found health and regeneration through Christian Science eight years ago, I was in a very hopeless state of mind over poor health and unhappy conditions in my employment. After my first treatment I returned to my work as a schoolteacher, and I have missed only one day since.

Words are inadequate to express my thankfulness for all the blessings that have been mine since I became a student of Mrs. Eddy's teachings. I am grateful for an instantaneous healing of a sprained ankle and for healings of effects of accidents which appeared very serious. For the protection I have had in many instances, I am also grateful.

I should like to relate an instantaneous healing which to me was positive proof that man is not material, but spiritual, and that in reality no mortal, physical body exists. One night about ten o'clock I wakened with a severe pain in my stomach. I immediately declared the truth to the best of my ability and began to read the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings as well as I could when in so much pain. After about two hours I suddenly felt that I was losing consciousness. Being alone in the house, I went to the telephone to call a practitioner. Before I could reach the telephone, I fell, but was able to rise again and get to the telephone. The practitioner answered at the first ring, and I gasped a few words to him. He replied, "I will help you." As I walked back to my room, I suddenly felt entirely free. I lay down and went to sleep immediately. When I awoke in the morning there was no trace of the illness. The practitioner's understanding that man is spiritual and that there was in reality nothing to heal had brought my release.
