TODAY

Carol Earle Chapin

Each day is its own fulfillment.
Let's beware of yesterday,
not count too heavily upon tomorrow.
For both of them would steal from now.

Unprecedented offer,
essential revelation,
the whole sphere rounding spontaneously
in active purpose,
completeness, joy:
this is today,
God's day, our day.
