A member of The Mother Church whose work was with the Special Services Station of the military command on Okinawa Island in the Pacific Ocean, much in the news toward the end of the Second World War, writes:
"I think it will interest many to know that there is an active group of Christian Scientists in Okinawa. I was stationed there with the air force from March, 1950, until April, 1951, and can never adequately express my gratitude for the joy and strength I received from my association with this group. For a number of years they even had their own little chapel. The little organ was but a portable, though it produced a fine and ample accompaniment, and the singing was comparable to the finest in quality, enthusiasm, and joyousness.
"The work is progressing wonderfully. I wish to share with all the news of this progress as told to me in a letter from a friend there, which I recently received. I quote:
