"Man's extremity is God's opportunity." In my extremity I turned to God and found Christian Science, and in humble gratitude I share this testimony.

Because of lack of friends, funds, home, and employment, I was in much distress and decided that it was time I prayed to God to help me. In humility I prayed, "Father, show me the way." One day while seeking lodging I was led to the home of a woman who told me of Christian Science. She said that God is All and that the man of God's creating is always in his right place.

While seeking employment I held to these truths, although I did not understand them. However, their efficacy was soon made manifest in my experience, for in ten days I secured work at a salary which was sufficient to meet my need. That was at the time of the depression. During those ten days I was healed of the cigarette habit. The healing came about through my listening to the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly and reading articles in the periodicals. Some time later I was healed of social drinking, and the healing has remained permanent.
