Progress in the Field

Italy

The slow but constant growth of membership in the Christian Science churches among the Italian-speaking population continues. It is a source of gratitude to see how earnest and active the new members are. The subscriptions to the weekly Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly translated into Italian have more than doubled during the last two years. We owe much gratitude to the consecrated work of the translators.

A Protestant pastor who witnessed a healing through Christian Science of a former member of his congregation asked for the Italian Lesson-Sermon and a few weeks later bought the French edition of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. After a short while another member of his congregation, a nurse, also bought a textbook.
