"Let the redeemed of the Lord say so" (Ps. 107:2). My first contact with Christian Science, about seven years ago, was a most convincing proof that the Christ is indeed come and is ever present.

For ten years I had suffered increasingly from sinus trouble. Many kinds of treatment and changes of climate and altitude failed to give me more than temporary relief. Finally the doctors admitted they could do nothing for me.

At this point a neighbor very lovingly talked to me of Christian Science, explaining the definitions of God and man as given in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. She also gave me a copy of the Sentinel. I was enthralled with the logical and comforting explanations in the articles and in the testimonies. In a few days she lent me a copy of Science and Health. I picked up the book with many misgivings, for all that I had ever heard of Christian Science and its Discoverer and Founder had been derogatory. Nevertheless, in view of my recent experience and my admiration for this neighbor, I began to read. Every word, even sentence, thrilled me. The pages seemed illumined above and beyond anything I had ever known, and I truly felt that I was treading on holy ground.
