FROM ANNUAL REPORTS OF CHRISTIAN SCIENCE COMMITTEES ON PUBLICATION

Friendly Interest in Our Movement Continues

Isle of Man

The cordial relations with the editors and their editorial staffs have continued during the year. Two articles from The Christian Science Monitor were reprinted without comment but with due credit, and the special Monitor subscription offer was accepted by one editor. Another editor expressed his admiration for the efficiency of the work of The Christian Science Publishing Society in Boston and his particular interest in the printing and distribution of our daily newspaper. He had gained his firsthand knowledge when, as a member of a delegation of British editors and journalists visiting leading newspapermen in the United States, he had watched the activities in the many departments of the Publishing Society.

A thorough survey of the public libraries was undertaken by the Assistant Committee, and much useful information was gleaned. A bookplate listing the works of Mary Baker Eddy, books printed or sold by The Christian Science Publishing Society, and periodicals issued by the Publishing Society was pasted on the flyleaf of all authorized books on Christian Science. With the consent of the board of First Church, Douglas, this was also done in all books in the lending library of the Reading Room. The corn of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy in the Douglas Public Library was on loan each time the Assistant called to note the condition of the book.
