Many years ago when I attended my first Christian Science church service I was much impressed, although I did not take up the study of Christian Science at the time. Later I was troubled by a very annoying physical condition, and after trying many material remedies and getting no relief, I turned to a Christian Science practitioner for help; I was healed within the week. I was grateful for this healing, but still I did not take up the study of this most practical religion.

On page 266 of Science and Health Mrs. Eddy refers to the saying, "Man's extremity is God's opportunity." In my extremity twelve years ago I turned wholeheartedly to God and to the study of Christian Science. I do not know when the healing took place, but I do know that whereas I had not been able to walk as little as one block unaided, in a matter of a few days I could walk many blocks, and I was completely healed. My release came about through my reading the chapter on Prayer in Science and Health; I arose one morning as one reborn. I called to a neighbor to join me in a shopping tour, and by the time we returned home we had walked over three miles, something I had not been able to do for some time.

This healing brought about such a transformation in my appearance that friends could hardly believe I was the same person. It was with a heart filled with gratitude that I could tell them of my healing through Christian Science.
