I am grateful for spiritually alert parents, who accepted Christian Science when it was first presented to them as a healing religion. I was fourteen years of age at the time and painfully self-conscious. Through my study and endeavor to demonstrate the truths of Christian Science, this belief disappeared, and I was led to happy companionship and harmonious friendships.

One of the many healings for which I am grateful is that of resentment. With this healing came the realization that as a Christian Scientist I must love more, and as I endeavored to do this, a critical attitude toward my fellow man was uncovered and is steadily being overcome.

I am grateful for class instruction and for the rededication to the movement each annual association meeting brings. The sincere desire to attend these meetings annually has brought with it the funds necessary to get there. I am grateful for the protection that our three children have had from sickness and accidents, as well as for the healing of colds, croup, and stomach disorders. Some time ago my eldest boy. then three years old, had his arm drawn through the wringer of the washing machine. To mortal sense the arm was badly bruised and scraped. Through the loving work of a practitioner the child suffered no pain or shock and slept peacefully that afternoon. The boy was out playing the next day, and although his arm seemed stiff for a few days, the stiffness and swelling subsided very quickly.
