I wish to express my deep gratitude to God, to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and to Mrs. Eddy, our beloved Leader, who gave to the world a provable Science which meets every human need.

The testimonies given in The Christian Science Journal and Sentinel have always been a great inspiration to me. One of my very first experiences in Christian Science was the healing of an acute and very severe pain in my shoulder and arm, which awakened me in the night. The pain grew in severity by the minute. I did not want to disturb a practitioner at a late hour, but when morning came the practitioner was called. It was not over half an hour before the inflammation and pain were gone, and they never returned. My mother and sister were visiting me at the time. They knew nothing about Christian Science and thus were astonished at the quick healing.

Several times in my early experience of Christian Science, while living in a small town where there were no practitioners, whenever I was confronted with suggestions of fear, I opened my Bible to Isaiah (41:10): "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." This passage lessened my fear at once and gave me courage. I have had many wonderful demonstrations, including healings of severe colds, influenza, headaches, sprained ankles, and deep sorrow caused by the passing on of loved ones. I am grateful for the protection received recently when the car in which I was riding with others turned completely over; no one was injured.
