I should like to express my gratitude...

I should like to express my gratitude for Christian Science through the periodicals. My first healing took place about fifteen years ago after a doctor told me that I would have to have an operation for the removal of a goiter but that he could not guarantee the results, because my heart and blood were in a very bad condition. This proved indeed to be man's extremity and God's opportunity. I was very much discouraged and asked my husband for the copy of the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, which I had studied when attending a Christian Science Sunday School, where the seed of Truth had been sown.

Several days later a very loving woman came to take care of me. This was the answer to my prayers, for she was a member of a nearby Church of Christ, Scientist. She encouraged me in my study of Christian Science and at my request called a practitioner, whose clear thought removed all fear from my consciousness. Very soon the goiter disappeared. At the same time I was healed of bowel trouble of long standing, for which I had taken medicine for many years. The heart and blood condition faded away also at this time.

Months later the doctor who had previously attended me called to see my husband. When he asked to examine me I agreed, knowing there could be nothing true of God's man but perfection. He told my husband that nature had performed a most marvelous operation on me. I told him it was Christian Science that had healed me, and he indicated agreement.

I have had many other healings in Christian Science, such as those of a badly sprained ankle and of burns which I sustained when I poured boiling water on my hand, and, again, when I removed a very hot iron frying pan from under the broiler flame. In the last experience I declared the truth immediately and forgot the incident until hours later. When I looked at my hand there was no sign of a burn at all. I have also been healed of fear of travel on water and have been protected from automobile, train, and boat accidents.

For membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, where I have learned to work harmoniously with my fellow members, for the Sunday Schools, in which our daughters had their early training in Christian Science, and for my husband, who has given his loving help and support, I am very grateful. I want to express gratitude to God for our Way-shower, Christ Jesus, and for our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, as well as for the dear practitioner who lovingly answers whenever I call.
