About three years ago I experienced my first healing in Christian Science. I had been suffering extreme pain for several days due to a misplaced vertebra. I consulted a chiropractor for treatment, but instead of gaining relief I became worse and was informed that the condition was quite serious, as one limb was three or four inches shorter than the other.

One my way home from the doctor's office a friend, observing my agony, told me of a specialist in a nearby city. I determined to go to this specialist the following day, but meantime heavy snow, sleet, and a hard freeze made it impossible for me to drive my car.

In my despair and pain I was weeping bitterly when the telephone rang. It was a friend who, although not a Christian Scientist, asked me why I did not try Christian Science. Without giving the matter much thought, I immediately called a practitioner, as there did not seem to be anything else to do. This occurred about nine o'clock in the morning. I then fell asleep, and at three o'clock in the afternoon I awoke entirely free from pain and experienced a sense of peace that I had never known before. The vertebra had slipped back into place; and the healing has been permanent.

This wonderful experience was the beginning of my diligent study of Christian Science. Soon I joined The Mother Church and a branch church. A year later it was my joy and privilege to have class instruction from a devoted teacher.
